The 1st Swing Bridge on the Hooker Lake track, Mt Cook. Captured during my recent New Zealand tour. It was a bit of a scramble down the rocks to sit in the middle of well flowing Glacier stream for a few hours. The image is a blue hour/night astro blend which means you can't move the camera for an hour while waiting for the stars to come out. Luckily the rock was actually very comfortable and it was a lifetime memory lying there looking at the massive Mt Cook at the end of the stream. Taken during a weekend getaway with fellow photography friends at Lake Tyrrell about a month ago.It was a perfect night for astro except for my 1 hour struggle with my Polaris (it won and I gave up) and the dozens of Chinese tourists running around with boomboxes and phone cameras. Due to a temporary change at work for the last few months, I've spent half my life working in the city. I've learnt a whole new hatred of public transport and for those who do it every day, I commend your patience and tolerance. In theory, my last day doing this was on Wednesday 2/10 and I finished early. With a few hours free and with camera in hand I visited some of the intriguing places I have been passing in the tram.
